Honoring the Solstice: Welcoming the Dark

Led by Rev. Misty-Dawn Shelly

As the Winter Solstice approaches and the longest night draws near, we pause to remember that darkness is not only something to move through — it is essential to life. In winter’s deep quiet, bodies heal, dreams form, and hope roots itself in shadow. The universe itself is visible only in the dark. This Sunday morning, we gather to honor the gifts of darkness — rest, renewal, beauty, and the promise of returning light. Even in daylight, we will prepare our hearts to welcome the night with reverence and gratitude. All are welcome to this solstice morning of reflection and wonder.
